Lesson 44: Pie chart in SSRS

                         How to create a pie chart in SSRS

  • Firstly create a datasource, dataset and right click on the report body and insert a chart item by selecting the Pie chart as below.
  • Next select the values field and also a category to see the data w.r.t to it. Right click on the pie chart and enable show data labels.

             How to Display percentage in Pie chart in SSRS.

  • After select the required fields in the pie chart, click on category group and go to properties and check the name of the category.

  • Click on the data labels and go to the series label properties and edit the expression as shown below. When you preview the report you can see the values in terms of percentages.

Next insert a table in the report body and insert the required columns from the dataset1. Next in order to insert the columns from 2nd dataset, you need to write a look up function where you need to give the matching columns from both the datasets and the required column from dataset and scope as 2 datset Here since we are inserting the columns of dataset1 first, we are writing exp with scope as dataset 2.
